Things to Remember When Shopping for Forged Monoblock Wheels

At Players Club Cars, we're all about aesthetics. Adding a set of custom monoblock wheels could improve the look of your vehicle; however, there are a few things to consider when picking out your set.

Would you like to reuse your existing tires, or are you interested in a new setup? Our monoblock wheels can be built to similar specs as the factory wheels with lower offsets. This would give your wheels a more flush appearance with the fender and allow you to reuse your existing tires. If you upsize your wheel diameter, then, of course, you'd need a new set of tires.

Bigger is not always better. Yes, a lot of wheel brands and shops install 22" and 24" diameter wheels on vehicles like the Chevrolet Corvette C8 or Mercedes-Benz AMG GT. But just between us, going with too big of a wheel will compromise ride comfort because you'll have more rim and less tire rubber for your sidewall. It might make you feel like you're riding on rocks. Performance cars are made to perform on the track. We prefer to go with a stock diameter, lower offsets, and then lower the vehicle's suspension to still give the appearance of a larger-diameter wheel. But if this is just a show car, then maybe going big is the way to do it.

There are two approaches to selecting your wheel finish: either complement or contrast with the vehicle's color. For example, a black Cadillac Escalade would be complemented well with a set of satin black or gunmetal monoblock wheels. A contrasting finish would be high-polished silver or possibly even a lighter champagne color. Both could look good; it's really just a matter of preference and how you'd like to style your vehicle.

The last thing would be the offsets. If you're reading this right now, please do not try to calculate the offsets of your wheels by yourself. Leave that to us, as professionals. There are too many variables to consider when calculating the wheel width and concavity profile of the face. We have a database of approved fitments and can use our CAD software to ensure that your wheels are built to fit correctly. There are too many stories of people trying to calculate the offsets themselves and ending up with brake clearance issues or wheels that poke out too far past the fender.

Long story short, you're in great hands if you decide to order a set of custom monoblock wheels from us!
