The Original Design: 2021

In 2021, Players Club Cars conceptualized and designed the Classic 2-Piece forged wheel as a deliberate homage to the legendary AMG Monoblock — the iconic five-spoke design that defined the look of 1980s and 1990s Mercedes-Benz performance culture. The goal was to modernize that silhouette: deepen the dish, refine the spoke geometry, and bring it into the current era of exotic car customization without losing the soul of the original.

Renders of the Players Club Classic 2-Piece were posted publicly on our social media pages in 2021 and 2022, showcasing the design on the G63 AMG, AMG GT, and S63 AMG. The wheel was listed on our website at playersclubcars.com under Players Club Forged.

The design was ours. The vision was ours. The posts are still there.

What Happened in 2024

In 2024, HRE Wheels — one of the most established names in the forged wheel industry — released a new design called the HRE 544. The similarities to the Players Club Classic 2-Piece are striking: the five-spoke layout, the deep-dish step lip, the spoke width and taper, the overall proportional relationship between the face and the barrel.

We're not claiming legal ownership of a design language that traces its lineage back to the original AMG Monoblock. What we are saying is this: the timing is not coincidental, and the market has spoken loudly — people love this style.
